General Information

I am pleased to offer professional-quality reprints of my digital photography.

I do all my own printing in the most common standard reprint sizes (4x6, 5x7, 8x10") so I know exactly what you're getting. Your reprints aren't coming from a third-party lab somewhere, mailed to you without my ever seeing them.

I use an Epson Stylus Photo R2880 inkjet printer, Epson UltraChrome K3 ink, and the highest quality Epson Premium Glossy photo paper.

Epson's UltraChrome K3 ink is considered "archival quality", with a lightfastness estimated at over 80 years when used on Epson's photo papers.

Without exception, all the photos I show here will reproduce very well in any of the standard 4x6", 5x7" or 8x10" sizes.

All sizes are the finished, cut sizes

Larger sizes and prices

In most cases my newer photography (particularly those shot with my EOS 5D Mark II or 1D Mark IV bodies) can be reprinted very successfully in even larger sizes.

My new Epson Stylus Photo R2880 inkjet printer also prints these larger sizes, which gives me full control over the finished photo you receive.

  •  11x14"  $24.00
  •  11x17"  $30.00
  • 13x19"  $40.00
  • First class postage, for any number of prints, add $2.75
  • Washington State sales tax of 8.6% will be added to all prices

When matted and framed, the 13 x 19" prints are easily a stunning 20 x 26" in size.

(If for some reason the specific photo you want won't enlarge sucessfully to my satisfaction, you owe me nothing).

Digital images on CD

Many people have asked, so I've figured out a compromise that lets people buy my photographs in a digital format that will be acceptable for what most people want to do: use a photograph for desktop wallpaper on their computer, or email to Aunt Flo in Dubuque.

Here's what you get:

  • one digital copy of the photo at a size of 1200 (longest edge) by 800 pixels, jpeg format, at $8.00 each

Digital images on CD prices

  • $8.00 for each 1200 x 800 pixel photo
  • First class postage add $2.75
  • Washington State sales tax of 8.6% will be added to all prices

(Note that any further copying, reprinting or publication of the photographs contained on my Digital images on CD without my expressed, written permission is prohibited by copyright law)

How to order

To order a photo, I need the complete photo name (i.e. "6837 Halloween on Vashon Island 2013 103113"), or at least the first 4 digits of the photo name (6837), and the event (Halloween on Vashon Island 2013).

I need the size (4x6, 5x7, 8x10) and the number of each size.

I need your return mailing address.

And I need a check (payable to John Sage) for the full amount, including postage and sales tax, mailed to:

  • John Sage
  • PO Box 2541
  • Vashon, WA 98070

The best way to order is to email me with that information, to
jsage@finchhaven.com

Emailing me with your order allows me to keep in quick contact with you should I have a question about your order, confirm that I have received your payment, and that I have mailed your order.

If you need help with the prices and postage and sales tax, email me a list of the photos, sizes and quantities and I'll email you back with a full amount.

I print your order after I've received your check. Your order will be mailed out by first class mail generally 24 hours after printing.

You can also snail-mail me your entire order (photo name, quantity, size), your email address, and your check for full payment (payable to John Sage) to:

  • John Sage
  • PO Box 2541
  • Vashon, WA 98070

Ordering only by snail mail is my least favorite method
because it's awkward to keep in touch with you

And YES: I am on Facebook. NO: do not contact me about photo orders using Facebook Messenger. Seriously.

I now (after the fall of 2014) crop all my photos to make what I think is the strongest image, visually.

This means that the reprint you buy may not completely fill a standard photo paper (4x6, 5x7, 8x10) size. The printed image may either be letter-boxed or pillar-boxed at my discretion, but it will match the image you saw online.

Then, in many cases it may be possible for me to crop further into a photo to highlight one particular person or feature of the photo. If you wish me to do a custom crop, I'll need detailed instructions as to what you want, and then I'll need to take a look at the original photo to see just what can be done. All this would need to be done by email.

Frequently Asked Questions, briefly

I consider myself a "retail" photographer. I do not sell "stock" photography, and except in the case of local Vashon Island organizations, I do not sell my photography at "wholesale" for further reproduction in any form.
