Question:
Sorry -- but we have to wrap it up now -- any final comments?
Webmaster -- Anytown -- 1998/11/04 17:49

Answer:
I want to tell everybody thanks for being here. I appreciate the interest in the league and me personally. I hope you come and support the Nashville Noise and the ABL because if you want to see the best basketball played below the rim, we'll give you your money's worth.

Question:
Is it true that you were once drafted by a professional men's league?
jeff -- albquerque -- 1998/11/04 17:40

Answer:
Yes it's true. But I honestly couldn't believe it -- I was in disbelief -- just as you are now. But honestly I was flattered by it, but I turned it down to come to a better league, the ABL.

Question:
Saudia, here are some great restaurants to check out: Copeland's at Cool Springs (Sunday brunch is great), J. Alexander's, Mary's Barbecue (Jefferson Street), and Herbert's Barbecue (Franklin), just to name a few. Happy eating!
Mary Lou -- Nashville -- 1998/11/04 17:41

Answer:
Thanks -- I'll check some of them out!

Question:
Do you think the NBA lockout will have a big effect on the ABL this year? I'm hoping lots of NBA fans will give the league a shot. Have you seen this yet?
ABL Fan -- -- 1998/11/04 17:29

Answer:
Well, honestly, I think the lockout will benefit us. I think the NBA fans will turn to the ABL just because there's no basketball. So if they can't watch the men, they'll turn to the women. And that's a big plus for us.

Question:
If you could pick anybody to be on a basketball team with you, what would the Saudia Dream Team look like?
ABL Fan -- -- 1998/11/04 17:11

Answer:
Teresa Edwards, Katrina McClain, Dawn Staley, Shannon Johnson, Sheri Sam, Valerie Still, Val Whiting, Kedra Holland-Corn, La'Keisha Frett, Yolanda Griffith, and Adrienne Goodson.

Question:
Saudia, what is your favorite restaurant in Nashville?
Mary Lou -- Nashville -- 1998/11/04 17:24

Answer:
I haven't really been to many restaurants...why don't you suggest some?

Question:
Saudia- If you ever get a chance, will you check out me and my sister's "Saudia Roundtree Forum" on the ABL Fan Forum? We just posted it today, so it doesn't have much in it yet, but it's our way of thanking you for all the great things you've done for women's bball! Good luck this season! :o)
ABL Fan -- -- 1998/11/04 17:31

Answer:
Awwww...thanks a lot! Thanks for all your support!!

Question:
Saudia, what kind of community events have you personally taken part of in Nashville?
Mary Lou -- Nashville -- 1998/11/04 17:19

Answer:
We've done clinics for youth groups and those are the most memorable for me.

Question:
Have you had any especially memorable fan experiences?
Joanne -- Des Moines -- 1998/11/04 17:23

Answer:
Yeah -- I have one of the best fans in the whole world. Her name is Ashley. The reason why Ashley is so memorable is because when I was hurt, I was still her number 1 player. She supported me through my injury and still came out to all the games wearing my jersey. So, Ashley's my number 1 fan and I wouldn't trade her for the world. Her supporting me made me more determined to get back. Just seeing the smile on her face when I came out the first game from my injury, made my determination even greater.

Question:
Are you still in rehab for your knee?
Cindy -- Jackson -- 1998/11/04 17:23

Answer:
When you get injured, and you've had surgery, it's a constant battle every day to get where you need to be to improve and to stay healthy.

Question:
How do you feel about the departure of Dawn Staley?
-- -- 1998/11/04 17:09

Answer:
First of all, I think Dawn is a great player. I really enjoy playing against her. She's a competitor. I think when it comes down to a point in your career when you have to make certain decisions about your career, I think she did what was best for Dawn at this point in her career.

Question:
What you favorite food and your least favorite food?
-- -- 1998/11/04 17:23

Answer:
I really don't have a favorite food but I love to eat junk food. LOL.

Question:
Saudia, how do you spend your free time when you aren't practicing or playing b-ball?
Cleo -- MS -- 1998/11/04 17:16

Answer:
Thinking. Sitting at home listening to music and thinking about things I need to do and what I need to do to get there.

Question:
Did you enjoy shooting all those Reebok commercials? They came out great! Also, whose your favorite player to match up against?
ABL Fan -- -- 1998/11/04 17:08

Answer:
The commercials were fun. It's more work than what it seems to be. I don't think people know how many hours a 30-second commercial takes! I don't have a person that I like to go up against. The only thing I'm concerned about is winning -- our team being successful.

Question:
Which players do you feel the most challenged by?
Kristi -- -- 1998/11/04 17:15

Answer:
In my opinion, it's a challenge every night that you go out and step on the floor in the ABL. Just because the league is that good and you have all the great players in this league. So when you choose the ABL as a player, you're not afraid to compete.

Question:
Saudia, are you expecting lots of Bulldog fans for the Noise home opener?
Cindy -- Jackson -- 1998/11/04 17:02

Answer:
Well, I would like to think so, but if not, then we'll take support from anybody and everybody, whether you're a Bulldog fan or not.

Question:
Two questions: What kind of music do you listen to? How about your favorite song right now?
ABL Fan -- -- 1998/11/04 17:03

Answer:
Mostly R&B and rap, and right now I like Lauren Hill.

Question:
Saudia, I plan to be in Nashville Sat. when you and the Noise take on the Quest. (if my cousin doesn't have to work) Do you think i can get the opportunity to meet you if I make it Sat. ?
Cleo -- MS -- 1998/11/04 17:03

Answer:
I hope you are able to make it to the game. If so, I'll personally come and shake your hand for coming to the game -- not in the middle of a play but after the game...

Question:
How does your new team look this week? Is the defense coming together yet?
Cindy -- Jackson -- 1998/11/04 17:04

Answer:
I think our team has come a long way from day 1 -- Sept 28. I think we're coming together as a team. Like I said, it's not going to happen overnight, but I think we're finally learning to trust each other defensively, helping each other out -- not just playing your man, but helping each other -- so yes, I think our defense has come along.

Question:
Are you sort of the jokester on the team? If not, who would you say is? ;o)
ABL Fan -- -- 1998/11/04 17:04

Answer:
I think I am just because I like being silly sometimes when we get together as a team. But I know how to be serious when the time comes, and I think it's important to know how to make that transition. Because you can't be a certain way all the time.

Question:
How do you feel that the Nashville team is jelling?
Joanne -- Des Moines -- 1998/11/04 17:04

Answer:
That's a great question. I think we're coming along as a team, and, of course, know that we're an expansion team, so all the players are unfamiliar with each other. Even though we've had a month to get prepared, there's still a lot of things that haven't come together, but we're working hard everyday in practice to get it together.

Question:
Hi Saudia, this is a great b-day present for me today, the opportunity to chat with you. Anyway, my question is what are you most looking forward to this season?
Cleo -- MS -- 1998/11/04 16:59

Answer:
Happy Birthday! Glad I could be of some help to make it a good birthday. What I'm most excited about this season is to get started and for the competitiveness in the league. To be able to go out and compete in every game and know you are competing against the best.

Question:
Hi Saudia! Are you excited about the season finally starting this week?!!
Joanne -- Des Moines -- 1998/11/04 17:01

Answer:
Most definitely -- I'm excited about the season. It's time for us to show people what Nashville basketball is all about. So if you really want to see us, come out November 7 -- our first home game against the Quest.

Question:
Saudia, Glad to see you back from your injury!!! Do you feel like you are playing at 100% again? Also, I am a friend of your Aunt Evelyn's and just wanted to thank you for being so cool to my kids when you were here in San Jose last season. It was a thrill for them to meet you!
Julie -- San Mateo -- 1998/11/04 16:55

Answer:
Thank you. No, I'm not 100% -- I'm probably at 85%. And tell my Aunt I said hello -- and I hope to see you both at our first game in San Jose.

Question:
Good evening, Saudia. How are you doing tonight?
ABL Media Relations -- Palo Alto -- 1998/11/04 16:52

Answer:
Fine -- how are you?
