Bob's Your Uncle
"Bob's Your Uncle" includes some Islanders I've known for quite a long
while (Wilson Abbott on dobro), for a long time (Rochelle Wolfe on
banjo), and who I've met more recently now that I work at Chautauqua
Elementary School (Ken Larsen on guitar). The band has a strong
connection to the Vashon schools through Rochelle and Ken, and played
out at Camp Waskowitz when this year's Chautauqua fifth graders went
out for their week-long stay there.
"Bob's" will be playing at the Vashon Allied Arts "40 Years -
Founder's Day" backyard picnic later this July down at the Blue Heron,
and can also be seen at other Island events and venues.

Subconscious Population
I've known Ron Hook (and Richard Lipke) for about as long as I've live
on Vashon, and have loved his music for well over two decades. Ron has
fully integrated the visual and the musical arts into his life: notice
Ron's typical icons scattered about the stage, and check out the body
of his guitar. I'm proud to own one of Ron's block prints: "Search for
Primative", number 2 from an edition of 12, from about 1980.
Ron's music, art, and life represents a lot of what's been lost
forever on Vashon Island over the last 25 years...
