This game was a big deal. First VIHS Girls Varsity Basketball win of the season, at home, and an absolute thriller.

I don't keep written track, but from my photos, down 8 at the end of the first quarter; down 1 with six minutes to go in the second; and down 1 at the half.

Then, up 3 at six minutes in the third; up 7 with two left in the third; up 5 at the start of the fourth. Up 2 at 4:21 remaining. Vashon time out at 45-43 with 1:32 left. Nail-biting time.

One minute of game time is a draw. Then, Vashon timeout at 45-43, :37.3 seconds left. What's the game situation? We do not *have* to have a shot, but we can *not* have a turnover, particularly early in the shot clock.

So, Vashon inbounds and runs the clock. Annika manages to get a shot off with < :02 left on the shot clock; Lilly with an amazing rebound and a put-back off the rebound that doesn't drop, but the ball goes out-of-bounds to Vashon after Kate (being Kate!) blocks-off the Klahowya defender.

Time out Vashon with :02.5 seconds left in the game. Ball inbounds to Vashon out of the time out ... and that's game! Pirates win, 45-43! Fantastic job by everyone. What a bunch of warriors!
