I shot: the Bill Burby 5-10K race, the Kids' Parade, the Grand Parade, the Vashon Island Firefighter Challenge 2013, a couple performances at the VARSA Youth Stage, some shots at the Carnival, some shots here-and-there around the Festival, Phil Royal at Ober Park, Tarana at Ober Park, John Browne at Ober Park, and Rumor Has It at Ober Park. And probably other stuff I've forgotten about o__O

Friday: Vashon Island Strawberry Festival 2013
Festival Friday: OK. So I ended up shooting video of One More Mile at the Street Dance Friday night. Video looks great, audio is going to need some work. As I shot 27 separate clips (about 48GB worth) it'll be a while before I have anything up. The videos *will* end up on my YouTube channel - TheFinchHaven. They're not up there yet.

The big story of Vashon Strawberry Festival 2013 is the King County Library System's expansion of the Vashon Island library, and the way it's completely overrun Ober Park. Sure, these are only construction fences now, but even after the project is finished the footprint of the library expansion will dominate Ober Park to an appalling degree. And it manages to isolate a nice, large, well-hidden corner back by the apartments for the crack smokers to hide in... |

So, since there can't be any Ober Park stage for music (for the first time since 1979, by my personal experience) here's where the Ober Park music is supposed to happen. And there'll be no booths -- none -- in Ober Park this year. |
